Information on accessibility

We aim to organise the Decolonial Europe Day initiative in the most accessible way possible. For this, we are taking the following measures:

  • We will be using a single online platform for all sessions: Zoom. Zoom offers a number of features to enhance the accessibility of our online event.
  • While English is the main working language of the event, we will have closed captions and automated translations of said captions enabled for all plenary sessions and partner sessions 1, 2, 3 and 5.
  • While our partners will be mainly responsible for the accessibility of their own sessions (from 13:00-14:30 and from 16:30-18:00), we support them as best as we can, including by sharing a document with accessibility tips with them.
  • Registrants will receive access to a folder with presentations and other materials shortly in advance of the event, so they can access these files on their own by means of a screen reader.
  • We aim for descriptive language in facilitation and writing on our website and social media, and we commit to providing image descriptions when sharing images.
  • In case of additional participation requirements, we kindly ask you to contact us via hello[at]decolonial.eu.

Making our initiative as accessible as possible is an ongoing learning process. We really appreciate any possible feedback or suggestions you may have for us. Please write to hello[at]decolonial.eu to share it with us.
